Run for Hope

Auckland Marathon

Sunday 29 October 2023

We are calling on all runners and fitness enthusiasts to join us in the Auckland Marathon and help raise awareness and funds for mental health.

40%

40% of kids will have a major crisis often associated with some type of suicidal thinking before they leave school.

80%

80% of those kids never ask for help because they are worried about what others will think, say, or do.

This means that someone you know may be struggling.

At I AM HOPE, we aim to reduce these numbers. Our “Little People, Big Feelings” program is designed to help children feel more comfortable talking about their emotions and seeking counselling without fear of being judged or facing negative consequences.

Normalising counselling
It’s just a conversation

Throughout the year our I Am Hope ambassadors visit hundreds of schools with our “Little People, Big Feelings” program. Reading our new TR & Mac book “Little People, Big Feelings” the Ambassadors talk to young primary age kids about how to ask for help and normalise counselling as being  “just a conversation” as well as passing on other coping tools for them to take home and use in times of stress.

The I Am Hope tours are an unfunded service delivered at no cost to schools and communities and all costs are met by our charity.

We need your help to keep up with the growing demand. Together we can build a better informed and more resilient generation of young people and arm them with tools to pass on to future generations.
